I met Irene on an early Sunday morning in May 2022. We started to shoot in this lovely sunny day before the tourists and workers would populate the streets and places around the Museum Isle in Berlin Mitte.
Fashion photography gets this wrong
Often it is about who you know, which brands you have worked with, at which amazing location you shot.
The bigger the better!
I wouldn’t consider myself a fashion photographer – although some of my pictures have this kind of look and feel
But there is one aspect of fashion photography that I do love
When it is done well it conveys a mood. It is no longer about the model and the cloths she wear but about the viewer and what she thinks and feels when she looks at the picture
Just as fashion is more about how the cloths we wear makes us feel and what we would like to signal to the world
