Why street photography matters. Street photography is very important subject in my creative and artistic journey. For me it is a spiritual practice as well. It shaped the way how I approach my people photography today.
the performative aspect of photography
For me taking pictures is like a dialog – What I aspire with my pictures is that the dialog continues in the mind of the viewer.
In her Book – The Artist Way – Julia Camron introduced me to the idea of an artist date. The artist date is some quality time that I spend with myself and do something that nutritious my soul.
Doing Things Differently
In a workshop about continuous light led by Jens Burger, I tried to take things more slowly. I paid more attention to the actual photographic process.
And then there it was -this moment, when I realized: This is it. We got the picture! We can move on to the next set and I don’t have to keep on shooting just because I felt insecure and was afraid of missing something out.
In Ingo Hampe’s artistic practice, photographing is an act of sensing and making sense of the world through observation. explores the mysteries of life and our shared humanity.
